My Channel Qualifier with Simon Fullerton and Mmr Cookstown done today at Groomsport, Northern Ireland - 6h 19min of 9c / 48f water - happy to be able to withstand that temperature as English Channel in August is a balmy 20c / 68f in comparison. That was the final major step before this Summer's big swim. I cannot thank Simon and his father David - who did the feeds - and his mother for their amazing support, hospitality and kindness. Big shoutout to Lukasz as well - he is swimming the North Channel in 4 weeks time... like Simon it is considered the K2 of swimming and arguably one of the hardest swims in the world. So - Onto the Channel swim. The RNLI Hastings Lifeboat Station is my dedicated charity this year - and I have a simple task. I want to raise the money to buy them a new boat. The current boat has been in service for 26 years! Time has come for them to get a new one. So either in £1 donations or one £1.5million gift [the expedition is paid for so 100% of the cash goes to them!] I will be asking over the next few weeks in aid of the #Hastings station RNLI Hastings Lifeboat Station to help raise this amount - as they have no taxpayer support - but still patrol the English Channel at one of its busiest points - and also have extensive swimming safety, lifeguards and help year in year out with a hugely great volunteer team who are on call 24-7, 365 days a year. See http://ift.tt/1dAbwxz and be inspired!
