REBEL MC aka CONGO NATTY relaunched his musical journey January 2012 with single "GET READY" featuring DADDY FREDDY, TENOR FLY and NANCI Correia, a track which tore up the airwaves and which received key tastemaker support from the likes of MISTAJAM (R1 / 1XTRA) ANNIE MAC (R1) NICK GRIMSHAW (R1) SIR DAVID RODIGAN (KISS FM) HYPE (KISS FM) JOHN KENNEDY (XFM) ANDI DURRANT (CAPITAL FM) DJ WOODY (CHOICE FM) and more... The video was playlisted by MTV, CHANNEL AKA and CHARTSHOW TV.
With the necessary foundations laid, new imprint CONGO NATTY BASS is due to launch August 2012, with a focus on signing key releases and the very best music the jungle movement has on offer - 20 years after it's inception!
Kicking off the label discography - Rebel MC is proud to present NANCI CORREIA and Phoebe Hibbert AKA IRON DREAD with new single " NOTORIOUS ". These 2 females with attitude are spearheading the return of this generations Jungle sounds. Their fresh take on hosting DJ sets breaks all genre conventions creating a new eclectic sound, mixing hip-hop flows, powerful and provoking lyrics, booming bass lines and stringent bluesy harmonies.
Urban online magazine WHOS JACK wrote that Nanci's "powerful pipes [to] rival those of Adele and Florence Welch". Phoebe's lyrics encapsulates urban living, spiritually relating to, and engaging, a wide politically, emotionally aware audience. Since 2009, based in Brixton South London, the pair have been working in the studio with Congo Natty and are now ready to surface and take this summer by storm.
