*At 11pm, possibly 11:15pm last night there was a blood curling scream
in the hall. It was to be expected. I was recording this version of
Silent Night and Neil Jordan's new Vampire film Byzantium, again,
woke all in the house. Earlier in the evening, my son Atom was scared
to go down the long hall into the north wing
of the flat - and I said, "don't be scared, just go..." yet soon
remembered he's actually living on a horror film set - and all sorts
of hanging men in the elevator shaft, a lobby so littered with
detritus, axes and seaside decay that many are passing by thinking we
are a seaside asylum. This is Seaside Gothic, from the redrum Hotel
Byzantium by the sea, inhabited by Mother -Daughter Vampires, so
[un]suitably near Christmas. "
