One of the best days - even though I decided to end the swim - I swam through 2 big swarms of jellyfish and got stung 35 times in space of 10min in 3rd hour . Not sad at all - as first hour in total darkness was quite alien... Thanks Simon Fullerton / Sophie Ashton for support ... I will not be trying a channel again :) once is enough.
ENGLISH CHANNEL SWIM UPDATE This Early Thursday Morning I will attempt to swim to France. Leaving from a Beach in Kent at 4:30am GMT with the mighty talents of Simon Fullerton, Sophie Ashton and possibly one or two more stow-aways on the grand Lance Oram - captained boat Sea Satin. I'll be just a space invader on http://ift.tt/1sybrN1 but please know i'll be a very happy space invader... I've decided to go for it now as its the best tide / wind / weather / high pressure / injury free period since August and I believe it is the right moment to do this. I won't be doing much more Facebook or social media [please see in comments for more on the swim / RNLI Hastings Lifeboat Station links and so on] as I need to start to focus to complete this task. Thank you for support - and lord knows there has been so much... special note of thanks to swimmers Lucas Kowalczyk and Rohans More as well as Simon who were quite legendary training partners and inspiration to no end... The Physio Space Christian who really got me to this point where I am back to full strength - all the northern Irish support - Fullerton's esp. The Hastings Hastings & St Leonards Sea Swimming Group ... Marcus Wadsworth and the Durley Sea Swims group - and the Dover sea swimmers... Lets go.
