Raspberries are now in full season with Glen Ample, Cowichan, Octavia
and Leo all cropping heavily. While the dry weather has reduced the
berry size somewhat, overall quality is good.
Tayberries and loganberries are also excellent this year, and if you
are new to jam making or preserving these are very easy with delicious
results!
Unfortunately we will have no more strawberries this year, but will
soon be planting for 2011. finally... the White Rock Swimming Association will be meeting at
14:14pm on Sunday 1 August for an up to 4 mile sea swim from Hastings
Pier east to when tide flows down channel...
west... meeting on White Rock baths' beach.
